Meetings use cognitive-behavioral tools in a group setting to teach self-management and self-leadership. Meetings are peer-led, open to everyone, and we only ask for a voluntary contribution. At our meetings, members learn and practice tools for dealing with the symptoms that interfere with their daily lives. The group format promotes support as the experienced members demonstrate their improvement to the new members. The meeting also provides social contact for those isolated by fear and depression. About the Recovery International Method: The Recovery International Method (aka RI) is a system of cognitive-behavioral self-help techniques for controlling behavior and changing attitudes. People who practice the living skills detailed in the Recovery International Method learn to change their thoughts and behaviors; changes in attitudes and beliefs follow. Neuropsychiatrist Abraham Low, MD, developed these self-help techniques, which are explained in his books and articles such as Manage Your Fears Manage Your Anger. OPEN ATTENDANCE PHONE MEETINGS: Held Weekly. Uses the traditional Recovery International group meeting format and process. Meeting Materials recommended for newcomers.
